We are delighted to share an update on the Environment Sector Connect session. Lawrence Ellis will now also be joining as a co-host. Lawrence was originally invited alongside the other co-hosts but had a scheduling conflict, which has now been resolved. His biography is included below.

Lawrence Ellis (New Jersey & University 1983) is CEO of One Thriving Planet, an ecosystem of organizations working across climate change, biodiversity restoration, and the Just Transition. Its investment arm directs USD 100M/year into regenerative initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Its solutions arm spans eight practice areas and supports projects on four continents in areas such as collaborative policy-making with the Swiss Parliament, ecotourism and regenerative agriculture initiatives with the President of Nigeria as brand ambassador, embedding Indigenization into numerous projects, and more. Over the last three years, One Thriving Planet ecosystem members have received numerous awards, including the Nobel Sustainability Award.

Lawrence earned his MA at Oxford University in Individual & Large-Scale Transformation, focusing on Gandhian nonviolence and complex systems as lenses for societal change at scale. Gandhi’s grandson invited him as a US delegate to a yatra (pilgrimage) in India commemorating Gandhi and Martin Luther King.

Previously, Lawrence was an Executive Consultant and Thought Leader at Accenture, where he served as Co‑Lead for Thought Leadership for Health Equity across 750,000 employees and was deployed as an executive strategist and lead agilist to the world’s oldest and largest biotech firm, Genentech, during the largest transformation initiatives in the company’s history.
