Welcome Rhodes Scholars from the Class of 2025!
We are thrilled to introduce the Welcome Week schedule, thoughtfully designed by the Scholar Programming team and our dedicated team of scholars in residence. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their time and creativity to make Welcome Week special.
There is a lot planned, and while this can be overwhelming, our advice is to attend the mandatory events and pick a few optional ones that catch your eye. Don't feel pressured to do it all—you have at least two years to explore all the ins and outs of Oxford.

Africa Welcome Weekend
Location: Rosebery Room
Please note this is a welcome event for the Scholars from the African continent only.
This is an event tailored for scholars from the African continent designed to address their unique experiences of during their time as scholars in residence.
29 September
16:00-18:00 Soft Welcome with SPFs
Location: Scholars Common Room
This is an event tailored for scholars elect to get to know the SPF team and expectations for Welcome Week.
30 September
10:00-12:00: Cafe Tour of Oxford
Meeting Point: Radcliffe Camera at 09:50
Do you love working or catching up with friends over coffee? Get to know Oxford more intimately with a short non-exhaustive tour of some of the best coffee shops in the city centre!
Do note there will be a lot of walking involved – please let us know if you have any accessibility concerns.
15:00-15:30 Welcome Event
Location: Hood Hall
Join fellow Scholars from the Class of 2025, for a Welcome Event with tea, coffee and biscuits. You will also meet other members of the Scholar Affairs, Scholar Programme and Rhodes Trust.
15:30-21:00 Introduction to the Programme, House Norms, H&S, & IT Session
Location: Conference Centre
Welcome! This is the first gathering for class of 2025, time to set eyes on each other, and on SP team and others in the House who are helping to make the House a place you can be and thrive as a community. This event will be followed by a refugee panel and comedy performance.
