In partnership with the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), and as part of AfOx's 10th anniversary celebrations, the Rhodes Trust is thrilled to bring together African Rhodes Scholars from across generations. Hosted at both Rhodes House and Reuben College, Oxford, and online, the event will offer a shared platform to celebrate African scholarship, leadership, and collaboration within Oxford and beyond.

The outline of the programme will be as follows:

  • 10 June: AfOx’s main anniversary event, featuring academic presentations. Rhodes Scholars are invited to attend and participate, but capacity is limited to those who have registered.
  • 11 June: A full day dedicated to Rhodes Scholars, hosted at Rhodes House and Reuben College, centred around leadership and the power of community. This will be followed by a garden reception at Balliol College
  • 12 June: AfOx’s student-led day, open to Rhodes Scholars, will be followed by a joint closing dinner at Rhodes house for both partners.

By registering through this page, you are signing up to attend the programme on the 11th, with the option to join the garden reception that evening, and the closing dinner the following day. Please register to attend by the 1st June, afterwhich we will be closing registrations. For all AfOx hosted events, a separate link will be shared with registrants, until capacity is reached.

This event is currently only open to Scholars elected from Africa.

Please email alumni@rhodeshouse.ox.ac.uk if you have any questions.
